Water lily blooms
After receiving two half whiskey barrel ponds for free on Craigslist in Febrary, I left them in a partly shaded part of the yard. Today, I spotted this bloom. Several buds are peeking up from the depths. It's looking like it will be a beautiful summer.

Turtle lays eggs
During
my walk around the parking lot at work today, I spotted this mama turtle
laying eggs. I'm going to keep an eye on this spot in hopes of seeing
baby red ear sliders emerge in about 50 days.
