Female Texas spiny lizard digs nest

While wandering around the backyard, I spotted this female Texas spiny lizard (Sceloporus olivaceus) digging a hole for a clutch of eggs. I've seen young spiny lizards in the yard, but have never seen a nest before.

Anoles multiply

An anole egg incubates in the shelter of a watermelon plant. There are loads of babies crawling everywhere!

Breeding toads

So many Gulf Coast toads have been attracted to my pond. Sometimes there are about a dozen clamoring for a chance to mate. This happy couple went to live with a friend whose pond was toadless.
