Organizing basket #10

Today I'm processing willow in my second attempt at French randing for a growler carrier. Not sure if I should use all buff willow or add an accent in the waling. We'll see.

Clockwise from center:

The target growler.

A bundle of willow trimmings leftover from the stakes of basket #8. These will be used to weave across the base.

The 6 pieces that will become the "slath" or the frame of the base.

My trusty snips. Basket heads like to get fancy and call them "secateurs."

Trimmed willow that will become the woven part of the basket walls.

Untrimmed willow that will become the woven part of the basket walls. Together, these will form a bundle of 24 rods to weave the basket walls using the dreaded French randing method.
