Basket #10: barrel shaped growler carrier

Basket #10 -- barrel shaped growler carrier, buff willow and red osier dogwood with French randing walls and twisted handle.

Front of Basket #10 -- barrel shaped growler carrier; I finally figured out French randing and am happier with the top border! But I made a big mistake with the handle.

French randing uses 24 weavers at the same time. Up until now, I've been weaving with only one weaver at a time. It's confusing but one mostly gotten the hang of it.

French randing can be maddening because you weave with 24 weavers at once. If that's not confusing enough, the union will test your resolve as you try to connect 24 new weavers to the existing ones.

French randing produces a stunning wall that's much more consistent than using one weaver at a time.

I used red osier dogwood for the waling and I'm quite happy with how tight the base turned out.

While far from perfect, I'm getting better results with the top border. But really need more practice.

The fatal flaw in this basket with my choice to trim the twisted handle then try to fix it with sparse wrapping. I learned it soon unraveled.
