Basket #8: growler carrier

Basket #8 Growler carrier, aka Connor Coozie, buff willow and red osier dogwood.

This is my first basket using commercial willow. I have to say, worth every penny! Working it is smooth like butter, the material is extra slender, ultra malleable, has a beautiful luster, and it smells wonderfully woody.

I've gotten quicker, completing this project is about 4 hours. I've also learned how to make a base that doesn't wobble.

This is the tightest, most consistent weave I've ever made. Just need to work on keeping the uprights straight. But how about that pretty red osier dogwood accent?

I'm in love with the handles, dogwood accent, and the stellar base. I'm also pleased with the tight weave.

I'm so happy with how the twisted handle came out. This material is so malleable and silky smoothe.

This base is close to perfection!

But there's two big things I need to work on: keeping the frame of the basket walls from meandering (those vertical lines in the wall should be arrow straight) and making a consistent top border (it should be a consistent scallop, not look like a broke down fence).

I'm already dreaming up my next basket...
