Simple tools and materials

I'm learning how to make kites with an emphasis on simple, cheap or recycled materials. That includes plastic bags, bamboo, tissue paper, glue and tape. I eventually hope to learn how to construct kites out of fabric.


So far, this is my tool box:
thick gauge needle
wire snips
scissors
measure tape

My materials include:
tissue paper
nylon string
packing tape
bamboo
glue
wooden dowels
plastic curtain rings
metal rings (reclaimed reinforcement rings used to hang plastic packages in store displays)
plastic bags (grocery bags and trash bags)
