U.S. Route 395 is one of California's most scenic highways. It's also filled with technological innovations from years past. Owens Valley Radio Observatory was built in the1950s to study radio galaxies. It's now used to study the sun.

Generating Station, built in the 1970s, uses parabolic mirrors to reflect sunlight to heat water into steam, which turns turbines to generate electricity.
