While tending to the pollinator garden at Gardens at Gus Garcia, about a dozen bees hovered around the snapdragons. Bees loaded with pollen are such a joy to see up close. Tillery Plant Co. regularly donates their surplus plants to help keep the garden in bloom.
Bees scout for the best blossom before settling in.
After finding the right flower, the bee crawls inside to drink nectar and pack pollen on to her legs.
The pollinator garden has a variety of flowers including hollyhocks, milkweed, fall aster, broccoli, and spider lily.
